Anxious. Angry. Scared. Sad. Resentful. These emotions are difficult for many adults to process in a healthy way. In the still developing brain of a child, these big feelings can be immobilizing. When our children struggle processing their emotions, we might feel overwhelmed or unqualified to help them. Maybe we’re afraid and we don’t know what to do. As parents, we need to know there is hope for redirecting anger and sadness and overcoming fear and resentment in positive and constructive ways. We can all, children and adults alike, become stuck in the negative script that plays in our minds. That script canbe rewritten. If you’re ready, I’d like to help your family rewrite your story.
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly five years of experience working with children and families; I am passionate about helping parents rebuild confidence and peace where they currently feel overwhelmed and frustrated. I work with my clients to find hope and real strategies to connect with their children. Having spent years working as a school-based therapist at a TK-12 school, I specialize in working with young boys who are struggling with impulse control, anxiety, anger and defiance.
Certified as a Positive Discipline Parent Educator, I utilize the Positive Parenting model in my own home with my children. I am a certified foster parent, which provides me with a unique insight into the joy, pain and blessing of parenting children who come from difficult backgrounds, broken families and who can become lost in a broken system. I would be honored to use my experience as a father, foster father and professional therapist to help you connect with your children in a way that you may have lost all hope for.
Reaching out is the first step. I’ll take the second step with you as I come alongside you on your journey to healing and restoration. Call me. My direct number is (626) 765-1214. I look forward to speaking with you.
