Dahlia Bagnis is a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience serving children, adolescents, and adults. Guided by the belief that change happens within the context of relationships, her clinical practice is grounded in an attachment perspective. Dahlia has witnessed the power of secure attachments and enjoys helping individuals and families strengthen bonds and problem solve. As a partner in the therapy room, Dahlia works alongside her clients, respecting each as the expert of their own experiences. She utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy based on individual needs, drawing from cognitive behavioral, client-centered, and insight-oriented therapies along with interpersonal neurobiology.

With specialized training in child-centered play therapy and dyadic play therapy (caregiver and child), Dahlia has a passion for working with children and families. Play is the language of children and play therapy is a mode to facilitate self-expression. Through play therapy, Dahlia can support you and your child in resolving issues related to depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, attachment, separation and divorce, anger, and adoption.

Dahlia loves the generalist nature of social work practice, which has allowed her to work with a diverse group of clients across the lifespan, including children ages 3-11, adolescents, transitional age youth (18-21), and adults. She has worked extensively with those who have experienced domestic violence, childhood trauma, homelessness, depression, anxiety, struggles with life transitions, and severe and persistent mental illness. Her expertise is in the area of complex trauma, which encompasses repeated traumatic events over a period of time and within particular relationships. Dahlia has facilitated trainings on trauma informed practices and served as a clinical supervisor.

A Southern California native, Dahlia completed her Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern California. She is a proponent of self-care who enjoys fitness, healthy living, and exploring the outdoors with her family.
