Kira Bender, MS OTR/L

 

Kira Bender is a pediatric occupational therapist with a passion for working with children and families to foster regulation through connection. Through her robust experience working with autistic youth, Kira has built a specialty utilizing a strength-based approach to support clients of all ages and neurotypes.

Kira’s expertise lies in working with families to empower them to see their child through a lens of self-regulation and sensory integration. As mom to a three-year-old, Kira understands the everyday challenges of parenting a sensitive child, which drives her to create collaborative, family-centered solutions.

Kira obtained her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University in 2015 where she contributed to professional research on self-advocacy for disabled youth and young adults. Kira has training in yoga-based therapy and is certified in DIR Floortime therapy.

Kira also works as a teaching assistant and guest lecturer at West Coast University's postgraduate occupational therapy programs.
