About Orli

Orli Lahav, MA, BCET

Board Certified Educational Therapist

Cal State University, Northridge

UC Santa Cruz

Brain detective is how Orli describes her primary role with her students. In this role, she strives to understand their approach to learning and the way to best support them in their educational journey. Equipped with that knowledge she functions as a guide, showing them ways to leverage their strengths and talents, combined with individualized strategies, to achieve their goals. Bolstering their understanding of how their brain works and how they learn empowers them to develop the confidence they need to tackle new and old challenges. Making sure that a student feels seen and safe are essential to her practice, so Orli focuses on developing a strong rapport and connection with each one of her students. She is passionate and committed to developing their confidence as strong learners, who can advocate for what they need inside and outside of the classroom.

Orli is a Board Certified Educational Therapist and a BCET level member of the Association of Educational Therapists (AET). She has been working with diverse learners for over 20 years and has experience with children across all grade levels. Orli has a thriving private practice and has worked in various educational therapy centers and schools throughout Los Angeles. She completed her undergraduate degrees at UC Santa Cruz, and received her Masters of Arts in Special Education with a Certification in Educational Therapy from Cal State University, Northridge. She is trained in several Orton-Gillingham based programs, all accredited by the International Multi-sensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC), which allows her to create a highly tailored, multisensory approach to reading for each of her students. Additionally, Orli is trained in a variety of math and writing programs and has extensive experience supporting students in various subjects.

Orli loves encouraging students to find their success, while simultaneously helping parents better understand and support their child(ren). It takes a village to guide children to find their place in this world and it’s a gift to be a part of their journey. Orli has two young boys of her own and spends her free time playing, cuddling, and exploring with them and her husband.
